In the specific case of children suffering from gastro-oesophageal reflux, the experts’ suggestion to ensure a peaceful sleep is to place them on a sloping surface. If baby’s head and back are slightly raised compared to the rest of the body, the discomfort of the milk coming back up from the stomach is reduced.
